Chief Governance Officer

This is a strategic leadership opportunity to guide an independent agency in achieving its vision of a fair and accountable public administration.
Reporting directly to the Queensland Ombudsman, you will play a pivotal role in providing high-level advice on governance, change management, and risk mitigation. You will lead a team across various functions, driving initiatives to support growth and transformation.
The successful candidate will bring exceptional leadership skills, experience in change management, corporate services team leadership, and stakeholder engagement. They will also have strong communication skills, organizational planning capacity, and a commitment to promoting a respectful and inclusive workplace culture.
- Develop and implement strategic plans to drive business growth and improvement.
- Provide high-level advice on governance, change management, and risk mitigation.
- Lead a team of professionals across various functions, including finance, human resources, policy, and communications.
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, non-government organizations, and community groups.
