Job Description:
">- As a Public Health Officer, you will play a critical role in protecting public health by helping prevent, investigate, and manage cases and outbreaks of communicable disease in the community.
Main Responsibilities:
">- Providing operational response to notifications of infectious disease
- Conducting case and contact interviews to establish acquisition links, identify high-risk individuals, groups, and facilities
- Providing public health advice and recommendations
- Enabling effective outbreak management through collaborative engagement with internal and external stakeholders and agencies

Requirements:
">- Graduate qualification in a health or other relevant field (if a health professional)
- Current registration with AHPRA (if a health professional) with no practicing restrictions or eligibility for membership of the relevant professional association
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to interact in an empathetic and non-judgmental manner with culturally diverse populations and persons experiencing a wide range of social conditions
- Good problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and the ability to use sound judgment in appraising risk and responding to client issues and concerns
- Adaptable and resilient worker able to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a geographically dispersed, multidisciplinary team
- Ability to establish and maintain collaborative professional relationships and work effectively
