About the Role

Key Responsibilities:
  • Routine receipting and processing of specimens; including operation and maintenance of analysers.
  • Pre and post analytical specimen handling.
  • Identification and prioritisation of urgent specimens.
  • Filing and storage of specimens and data entry.
  • Assisting Scientists in the Lab as required.
  • Continuous learning of processing requirements of different types of samples for different tests.
  • Staying up to date with processing updates.
  • Respond to result, sample requirements and general queries.
  • Identifying and resolving problems at the pre-analytic stage.
About You:
  • To be considered for this position, you will need to have a great blend of skills, including:
  • Specimen processing and data entry experience is desirable, but not essential.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • The ability to cope and thrive in a busy environment.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and work as a team.
  • Understanding the importance of following procedures accurately.
  • A willingness to adhere to departmental and organisational policies and procedures.
  • Previous laboratory experience and exposure to medical terminology would be desirable, but not essential.
  • Certificate III in Laboratory Techniques or Pathology Collection is desirable.
