Pathways Counsellor Role

The Pathways Counsellor will provide comprehensive support and customer service to clients in the Bendigo Program, assisting them to develop relevant learning pathways in line with their goals.

This is a collaborative role that requires liaising internally and externally, including network meetings, staying abreast of employment and training opportunities, and working with a dynamic team to make a real difference for our students.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide counselling support to clients in the Bendigo Program
  • Develop and implement individual learning plans based on client goals and needs
  • Liaise with internal teams, external agencies, and employers to ensure effective delivery of services
  • Attend network meetings and stay up-to-date with employment and training opportunities
  • Work collaboratively with a dynamic team to achieve outstanding results

Requirements

  • Thorough knowledge of services available in Bendigo, including settlement providers and mainstream services
  • Experience working with newly arrived migrants and humanitarian entrants from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds
  • Highly effective networking, negotiation, advocacy, and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated organisational and planning skills, including managing an extensive caseload and meeting KPIs and deadlines
  • Ability to speak a community language (Karen highly regarded)
