Corporate Governance and Assurance

This is a key leadership role within the National Library of Australia, requiring strong corporate governance and assurance expertise.

Job Description

The Director, Corporate Governance and Assurance will be responsible for providing strategic direction to the section, developing and implementing effective corporate governance and assurance frameworks, policies and programs. This includes:

  • Developing and implementing the Library's corporate governance and assurance education and awareness program;
  • Coordinating the Library's corporate planning and performance reporting framework and activities;
  • Overseeing the Library's enterprise risk and fraud control arrangements, and coordinating response to high risk matters;
  • Setting and monitoring performance of key governance and accountability metrics for the Library.

The successful candidate will have strong leadership capability, with experience in managing corporate governance programs and ensuring compliance with legislative and regulatory requirements.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Qualifications in law and/or corporate governance;
  • Extensive experience in managing corporate governance programs;
  • Strong leadership capability, including experience in leading and managing teams;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

The preferred applicant will be required to undergo a police record check and may need to obtain and maintain a NV1 security clearance.
