Manager - Finance and Business Analysis

Overview

A Queensland-based not-for-profit organisation is seeking an experienced professional to lead the finance and business analysis function. The successful candidate will report to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and be responsible for coordinating and developing the annual budget and quarterly forecast, building meaningful management reporting, and enhancing business engagement.


The role involves preparing monthly reports for executives and operational leaders to analyse performance against budgets and forecasts, highlighting key risks, issues, and opportunities. Additionally, the candidate will undertake detailed analysis of key costs and business drivers to support decision making, recommending solutions, and supporting the implementation of improvement initiatives.


The ideal candidate will have a degree qualification in finance, accounting, or a related field, and professional accounting membership. They will also possess high-level proficiency with Excel, modelling, and Business Intelligence (BI), as well as exceptional ability to communicate technical knowledge effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare monthly reports to analyse performance against budgets and forecasts.
  • Undertake detailed analysis of key costs and business drivers to support decision making.
  • Enhance budget and forecasting models and support financial aspects of business case development.
  • Provide direction, guidance, and support to teams and other staff.
  • Develop, implement, and review policy, procedure, and work practices.

Requirements

  • Degree qualification in finance, accounting, or a related field.
  • Professional accounting membership.
  • High-level proficiency with Excel, modelling, and BI.
  • Exceptional communication skills.
  • Significant experience in management accounting and business analysis.
  • Ability to build and lead successful teams.
  • Flexible and proactive attitude.
