Senior Mental Health Clinician

About the Role

The Senior Mental Health Clinician provides high-level clinical care to young people with complex mental health needs. As a senior member of our team, you will be responsible for leading and supervising junior clinicians, mentoring staff, and participating in daily operations.

Main Responsibilities

  • Deliver evidence-based clinical treatment to young people with severe mental health conditions.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to junior clinicians; participate in risk management and care planning.
  • Collaborate with senior leaders to develop and implement youth-focused care initiatives.
  • Contribute to a safe and supportive work environment, including safety planning and suicide prevention.
  • Work a rotating roster including evening and weekend shifts; coordinate referrals to longer-term services as needed.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Registered Nurse (RPN Grade 4), Occupational Therapist, Social Worker, or Psychologist with relevant registration and qualifications.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in tertiary mental health; proven ability to work autonomously and collaboratively with clinical leaders.
  • Excellent communication, organisation, and leadership skills; motivated by youth-focused, inclusive, and recovery-oriented care.
