About This Role

We are seeking an experienced Data Center Technician to join our team. As a Data Center Technician, you will play a critical role in delivering high-quality infrastructure and foundational technologies for our cloud services. Your expertise will be essential in staging, setting up, and performing hardware deployments, as well as troubleshooting and decommissioning equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostics and troubleshooting following standard procedures, quickly identifying the cause(s) of issues and replacing faulty components with minimal customer and business disruption.
  • Conduct post-execution quality checks and verify that grounding, staging, labeling, and cabling are set up properly according to safety protocols and deployment standards.
  • Dismantle hardware for simple changes and refreshes, such as memory upgrades and rebuilds, following standard procedures with minimal guidance.
  • Communicate, report, and escalate incidents to appropriate Microsoft data center operations management units, technician leads, and engineering specialists.
  • Provide guidance and assistance to other technicians to complete challenging or complex tasks.
  • Complete required training aligned to the role and workload, observing more experienced technicians to gain hands-on experience and relevant on-the-job training.
  • Participate in regular team meetings, share information with others, and stay informed about the status of others' work.
  • Show pride and accountability for service quality, completeness, and resulting user experience, displaying ownership of the data center facilities.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 1 year's experience supporting IT equipment or related technology.
  • A basic knowledge of computer hardware and components.
  • A Baseline security clearance.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 2+ years' experience supporting IT equipment or related technology.
  • Applicable certifications: CompTIA (A+, Server+, Network+), Basic Structure Cabling (BSC).
