Job Summary

Head Medical is delighted to support Canberra Health Services with the recruitment of a Consultant General Paediatrician to join their multidisciplinary team within The Division of Women, Youth, and Children Service department in the delivery of services to the people of the ACT.

About the Role

As a Consultant General Paediatrician, you will be responsible for managing inpatients and outpatients referred to the General Paediatric Service, promoting a commitment to high-quality, customer service principles, practices, and attributes. You will also contribute to the on-call requirements in General Paediatrics and provide support for acute paediatric inpatients.

You will be expected to initiate and manage clinical governance systems within the Paediatric Department by practicing evidence-based medicine, participating in clinical audit and morbidity and mortality review, and contributing to the review and maintenance of policies and guidelines.

Benefits and Remuneration
  • Competitive pay rates and excellent working conditions within a tertiary hospital. Salary package may reach up to $408,058 - $550,742 AUD, inclusive of salary, applicable allowances, and superannuation.
  • 11.5% Superannuation.
  • Salary Packaging with many options that provide full fringe benefits tax concessions.
  • Medical Education Expenses allowance reimbursement up to $19,782 AUD per annum.
  • Generous leave provisions, including up to 4 weeks training/education leave and up to 5 weeks annual leave per annum.
  • Up to $55,000 AUD in reimbursement of relocation expenses for permanent and long-term appointments.
  • VISA/Sponsorship for eligible candidates.
Requirements
  • Registered or eligible for registration as a medical practitioner with the Australian Health Practitioner's Regulation Agency (AHPRA), or equivalent as an overseas trained specialist who has completed their training in either the UK, Ireland, Canada, USA, or New Zealand.
  • Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP) or an equivalent high specialist qualification in your country of specialist training.
