About the Role

The Queensland Fire Department provides fire prevention, preparedness and response services to fire in built and landscape environments, as well as scientific and specialist capabilities to communities. The department provides a multi-hazard emergency response, including road crash rescue, bushfire, hazardous material, technical and vertical rescue, severe weather incidents, remote and swiftwater rescue.

The Queensland Fire Department encompasses multiple entities working together to pre-empt, prevent, mitigate and manage the consequences of fires and other emergencies on communities and support volunteers across the state.

This is an opportunity to contribute to reframing the relationship with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, communities and organisations through activities identified in the Reframing the Relationship Plan, contributing to Closing the Gap outcomes and building cultural capability.

Key Responsibilities
  • Engage with people to provide support for individual and collective capability development in leadership, learning and development, inclusion, diversity, social policy and individual performance.
  • Develop and implement policies, strategies and programs that support workforce performance and career progression.
  • Design and establish workflows and processes to maximise user experience while maintaining governance requirements.
  • Research, prepare and review reports, briefs and submissions relating to leadership programs and initiatives.
