Mental Health Workforce Development Specialist

This role involves developing and implementing professional development activities to support the growth and development of the Forensic Child and Youth Mental Health Services (CYMHS) workforce.
The ideal candidate will have advanced clinical knowledge and skills in forensic mental health, as well as experience in training and professional development. They will work collaboratively with the Forensic CYMHS leadership team to establish minimum training requirements for each service and facilitate opportunities for staff to meet these requirements.
About The Role:- Lead the implementation of training and professional development activities to CYMHS clinicians.
- Develop a workforce development strategy focused on internal staff training and retention, as well as attraction and recruitment of new staff.
- In collaboration with the Forensic CYMHS leadership team, establish minimum training requirements for each service and facilitate opportunities for staff to meet these requirements.
- Ensure training meets best practice standards and reflects developments in the areas of forensic mental health and child and adolescent mental health.
- Maintain records of staff training and provide regular review and evaluation to inform ongoing workforce and training needs.
The Forensic Child and Youth Mental Health Service is a specialist program within the Children's Health Queensland Hospital and Health Service. We provide assessment and treatment services to young people with mental health issues and significant behavioural disturbance that have resulted or place them at elevated risk of involvement with the criminal justice system.
