Job Description:

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing clinical care to our patients, working collaboratively with our medical staff to ensure seamless delivery of services. Key responsibilities include:

  • Performing clinical duties within required level of clinical competency
  • Explain[ing] position and procedures to patients, ensuring consent, providing them with support and reassurance
  • Triage, immunisations and other injections; wound management, chronic disease management, health assessments for target group of individuals, ECG's, spirometry and collection of pathology samples
  • Assisting doctors with patient care and clinical procedures
  • Maintaining accurate clinical documentation
Requirements

To be considered for this role, you will need:

  • A minimum of one year's nursing experience, preferably in a community-based role
  • Experience in similar roles as practice nurse or community-based nursing. Background or training in emergency nursing or occupational health nursing highly beneficial
  • Demonstrated understanding of the needs of general practice and interest and commitment to community-based nursing including patient education, health promotion and lowering patient risk outcomes
  • Knowledge of current immunisation schedules, diabetes management, asthma management, enhanced primary care items, infection control, CPR and emergency resuscitation techniques, equipment and drugs
  • Competence in the use of relevant equipment and software (desirable)
  • Sound knowledge of current legislation, practice standards, policies, and procedures
  • Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills, including a sound knowledge and understanding of relevant health related information systems
