About Our Family Therapy Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Family Therapist to join our team in Gosford, Central Coast. This permanent full-time position offers 35 hours of work per week, providing the ideal balance between work and personal life.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide short-term therapy to adults (18+) across issues such as post-separation adjustment, grief and loss, relationship breakdown, trauma, and non-acute mental health concerns.
  • Work with individuals and couples, delivering up to 12 sessions unless otherwise assessed, alongside case management.
  • Engage in family therapy in collaboration with colleagues as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Deliver services across counseling programs, including innovative telehealth and digital options.
Requirements:
  • A degree in psychology, social work, counseling or a related field is required.
  • Experience in individual and couples counseling is essential.
  • Confidence in working with complex issues and high-conflict situations is necessary.
  • An understanding of child protection, domestic and family violence, and trauma is vital.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and report-writing skills are required.
  • The ability to work both independently and as part of a team is essential.
