The Registered Midwife coordinates and delivers high-quality midwifery care to patients/clients of the St George Hospital and Health service consistent with SESLHD and St George Hospital policies, procedures, and standards.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate and deliver high-quality midwifery care to patients/clients.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to enhance service delivery and guide others in providing service excellence.
- Apply professional and ethical boundaries when dealing with complex situations.
- Use health information systems and demonstrate basic computer skills.
- Apply risk management, safety, and quality principles in midwifery practice.
- Current registration as a Registered Midwife with the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia.
- Demonstrated high-level written and verbal communication, interpersonal skills, and ability to identify key messages, issues, and concerns when communicating with others.
- Demonstrated ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and apply professional and ethical boundaries when dealing with complex situations.
- Detailed knowledge and understanding of risk management, safety, and quality principles and the role of the Registered Midwife in applying these principles.
- Extensive post-registration experience as a midwife in an acute care facility.
