Maintenance Specialist

Mechanical fitters are required to join our maintenance team. The role involves maintaining fixed plant rotating equipment, including pulleys, gearboxes, and electrical motors.
- The tasks will consist of change outs, servicing, and inspections.
- Following specific maintenance strategies and procedures is essential.
- A commitment to health, safety, environment, and sustainable development is required.
- Accurate documentation and data entry are necessary.
- Work methodology scoping and updating of work instructions are also required.
- Sharing experience as a subject matter expert to improve team capability is desirable.
BHP seeks individuals with a trade certificate in mechanical fitting or equivalent. Demonstrated experience in fixed plant rotating equipment, such as pulleys, gearboxes, and electrical motors, is necessary. Experience in fitment of bearings, couplings, and precision alignment of rotating equipment will be highly regarded.
- Experience in rigging and specifically on conveyor systems will be highly regarded.
- Experience with lubrication and hydraulic systems is desirable.
- Highly safety-focused individuals are essential.
- Proactive, self-driven, and capable problem solvers are required.
