The role of a Commercial Legal Advisor involves serving as a key legal expert to various teams, including commercial, procurement, marketing, regulatory, and operations.
They will be responsible for drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial agreements such as supply, distribution, licensing, manufacturing, R&D, marketing, and strategic collaboration agreements.
A successful candidate will provide timely, business-focused legal guidance on product launches, advertising, privacy, compliance, and general commercial matters.
Key responsibilities include supporting contract lifecycle management, driving improvements in legal processes and templates, working cross-functionally with regional legal teams and external counsel, and keeping stakeholders informed on legal risk, contract issues, and regulatory developments.
The ideal candidate is a qualified lawyer with 8+ years' post-qualification experience, ideally gained in both private practice and in-house. They must have strong experience in commercial law and contracts, with a practical understanding of how businesses operate.
Responsibilities also include building relationships and influencing stakeholders at all levels of the organization, making sound decisions in a fast-paced environment, and translating complex legal concepts into simple, business-friendly advice.
