The Hunter Power Project is a major undertaking that requires effective supervision to ensure its successful execution. The role of the supervisor will involve overseeing the construction of a 660MW power station, which comprises two heavy-duty open cycle gas turbines.

  • Assisting with safety sections for reports, tenders, and proposals.

Technical Expertise:

  • Monitoring and managing UGL employees and subcontractors to maintain professional standards;
  • Training apprentices to competent levels;
  • Supervising trade staff;
  • Coordinating resources to fulfill project plans and outage requirements;
  • Managing leading hands and trade staff to ensure adherence to UGL's procedures.

Team Management & Development Responsibilities:

  • Providing leadership, direction, supervision, and inspirational management to team members;
  • Establishing clear communication, solid lines of control, and delegation to subordinates;
  • Selecting and training team members to build a high-skilled, performance-focused, innovative, passionate team;
  • Conducting performance development sessions with direct reports;
  • Cultivating trust, cooperation, and motivation among team members.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • 5 years' experience in a similar role;
  • Trade qualification;
  • Strong communication skills (oral and written) including negotiation and influencing skills;
  • Able to work independently, prioritize demands, handle multiple tasks simultaneously, set deadlines, and follow through in a fast-paced environment.
