Job Title: Financial Policy Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Financial Policy Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Government Finance and Accounting Branch, you will be responsible for providing specialist advice on financial management policy, regulation and reporting issues.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and Interpret Policy: Develop, review and interpret financial management policy and legislation to ensure alignment with government objectives.
  • Provide Specialist Advice: Provide specialist advice to stakeholders within the Department and across Government entities on financial management policy and regulation.
  • Stay Up-to-Date: Keep abreast of contemporary financial management issues and emerging trends in both public and for-profit sectors.
  • Assist with Financial Services: Assist with the provision of financial management, accounting, budgeting, and reporting services as needed.

Requirements:
  • Financial Management Experience: Experience analysing, interpreting and providing advice on financial management legislation and policy frameworks.
  • Project Management Skills: Experience managing financial management projects and coordinating cross-functional teams.
  • Desire for Growth: Strong desire to develop skills, experience and judgement, and take on a range of responsibilities and tasks.
  • Leadership Capability: Leadership capability to motivate people to achieve shared goals and collaborate effectively.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, including senior government officials and other key stakeholders.
