Key Role: Motor Mechanic
Duties and Responsibilities:- Maintain, test and repair petrol engines and mechanical parts of light weight motor vehicles.
- Diagnose faults in engines and parts.
- Dismantle and remove engine assemblies, transmissions, steering mechanisms and other components, and check parts.
- Repair and replace worn and defective parts, and reassemble mechanical components, referring to service manuals as needed.
- Perform scheduled maintenance services to achieve smoother running of vehicles and ensure compliance with pollution regulations.
- Reassemble engines and parts after being repaired.
- Test and adjust mechanical parts after being repaired for proper performance, diagnose and test parts with the assistance of computers.
- Inspect vehicles and issue roadworthiness certificates or detail work required to achieve roadworthiness.
- Broad understanding of vehicle mechanics and diagnostic skills.
- Able to operate heavy machinery and equipment safely and efficiently.
- Familiarity with industry standards and safety procedures.
- Willingness to learn new technologies and techniques.
- Good communication and problem-solving skills.
