The Productivity Improvement Branch aims to enhance agency efficiency and effectiveness through streamlined policies and frameworks.

This team is responsible for developing and implementing policy advice on Commonwealth Grants Rules and Guidelines (CGRGs), while overseeing the administration of whole-of-government grants. The branch provides timely assistance and advice to stakeholders, entities, and government agencies.

The team also reviews proposals and submissions related to grants and prepares guidance for the Finance Minister. In addition, they are involved in various reform projects aimed at improving grants administration across the government.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Assistant Director with stakeholder liaison, including interpreting legislation to develop policy advice.
  • Review grants proposals and provide internal and external stakeholders with expert advice.
  • Draft policy briefings and documents for Ministers, Executives, and governance bodies.
  • Represent Finance at departmental forums.

Requirements:

  • Australian citizenship.
  • Minimum baseline security clearance.
