Job Title: Medical Science Educator

Job Summary:

The Medical Science Educator will play a pivotal role in the delivery and development of our Medical Science programs. This role focuses on teaching within the Medical Science discipline, including lectures, tutorials, laboratories, and practical sessions.

This position requires an individual who can effectively coordinate units, develop curriculum aligned with industry needs, assess student learning, and engage with industry partners to enhance clinical placements and student outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver high-quality lectures, tutorials, and laboratory sessions in Medical Science subjects, showcasing expertise in pedagogy and content knowledge.
  • Coordinate units by managing course schedules, ensuring seamless delivery, and adapting to changing requirements.
  • Develop curriculum that aligns with industry demands, fostering graduates equipped to excel in their chosen fields.
  • Assess student learning through rigorous evaluation methods, providing actionable feedback to drive academic growth.
  • Engage with industry partners to create mutually beneficial opportunities for students, enhancing clinical placements and contributing to research initiatives.
Requirements:
  • A doctoral qualification or equivalent in Medical/Biomedical Sciences or a closely related discipline.
  • Possession of, or willingness to obtain, a teaching qualification (e.g., Graduate Certificate in Tertiary Teaching/Education).
  • An understanding of higher education issues and the ability to collaborate effectively across the institution.
  • Demonstrated experience in engaging students and supporting their learning through flexible, multi-modal teaching approaches.
  • A strong research record, including publications, with the capacity to contribute to the institution's research initiatives.
