We are seeking a highly skilled Seabird Research Officer to support our long-term seabird research and monitoring initiatives in Antarctica. This role plays a crucial part in meeting Australia's international obligations and engaging with global communities related to seabird conservation.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading field season preparations, including planning, coordination, training, and supervising teams. They will also ensure effective collaboration with station personnel, logistics and operations teams, and equipment management.

  • Field Season Activities:
  • Prepare and execute safe and efficient fieldwork plans, adhering to established procedures and protocols.
  • Supervise and train team members to achieve research objectives while maintaining a culture of safety and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Camera Fleet Infrastructure:
  • Maintain and upgrade camera infrastructure, ensuring seamless image downloading and management for remote camera networks.
