Postdoctoral Fellowship in Biological Psychiatry

We are seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Fellow to join our team in the field of Biological Psychiatry at the University of New South Wales. This is an exciting opportunity for a Neuroscientist to conduct independent and collaborative research, advancing our understanding of the biological basis of Schizophrenia and Bipolar Illness.

About the Role
  • This fixed-term position offers a unique chance to contribute to cutting-edge research, working closely with a small team of experts.
  • You will be responsible for conducting wet-lab research activities, quantitative microscopy, and computational analysis, as well as developing and publishing scholarly impact through high-impact journals.
Key Responsibilities
  • Conducting independent and team-based research in Biological Psychiatry, focusing on neuroinflammation in human brain and blood.
  • Developing and implementing molecular, analytical, and histological approaches, including snRNA, immunohistochemistry, and spatial transcriptomics.
  • Publishing research findings in top-tier Psychiatry and Neuroscience journals.
Requirements
  • A PhD in a relevant discipline, with at least 2 years of postdoctoral experience.
  • Theoretical knowledge of neuroscience, neuroanatomy, and immunology, with strong skills in statistical analysis and data interpretation.
  • Demonstrated commitment to proactively staying updated with discipline knowledge and developments.
  • A proven track record of high-quality research outcomes and publications in Biological Psychiatry.
