Key Role: Senior Structural Transmission Line Engineer

This role involves utilizing expertise in structural design to oversee diverse projects, including wind, solar, battery storage, pumped hydro, and utilities works. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a team of engineers to develop innovative engineering solutions that cater to the needs of clients.

  • The ideal candidate should possess tertiary qualifications in Civil or Mechanical Engineering and be eligible for admission as a professional engineer to Engineers Australia or an equivalent professional body.
  • A minimum of 10 years' experience in structural design work, with a focus on transmission line and substation structural design is required.
  • Strong knowledge of Australian Standards AS/NZS 7000, AS 4100, AS 3600, AS 3995, and AS 1170 is essential.
  • Experience with computer design packages like PLS Tower, PLS Pole, and conductor load development for transmission and substation structures is necessary.
  • Familiarity with the 'Limit State' design method for conductor attachment point loads is highly desirable.
  • Analytical skills for lattice towers, poles, gantry structures, and lattice tower member connection detailing and design are crucial.
  • Previous experience in existing tower augmentation and strengthening works for TL upgradation projects would be advantageous.
  • The ability to solve complex technical and operational problems using a systematic approach or innovation is vital.
  • Background in an engineering design consultancy environment is preferred.

This role is based in our Tasmanian office, with flexible work arrangements considered. Occasional local, national, and international travel may be required due to diverse clients and projects.
