
Senior Structural Transmission Line Engineer

We can't wait for you to join our team as a Senior Structural Transmission Line Engineer and bring your fresh perspective to the team. This role will give you the opportunity to work on diverse projects including wind, solar, battery storage, pumped hydro and utilities works (transmission and distribution substations, switchyards and lines) for a broad range of clients.
Key Requirements Of The Role Are As Follows
- Tertiary qualifications in Civil, or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent), acceptable for admission as a professional engineer to Engineers Australia, or equivalent professional body.
- At least 10 years' experience in structural (Lattice structures) design work, with a particular emphasis on transmission line and substation structural design work.
- Strong knowledge of the following Australian Standards: AS/NZS 7000, AS 4100, AS 3600, AS 3995 and AS 1170.
- Sound experience in the use of computer design packages such as PLS Tower, PLS Pole; Development of conductor loads for transmission and substation structures.
- Experience in the development of conductor attachment point loads for transmission and substation structures through "Limit State" design method.
- Experience in the analysis of lattice towers, pole and gantry structures, as well as lattice tower member connection detailing and design.
- Experience in existing tower augmentation and strengthening works for TL upgradation projects.
- Ability to solve complex technical and operational problems, either through a systematic approach or innovation.
- Previous experience in an engineering design consultancy environment.
