Key Machine Operator and Supervisor

Experience is crucial in the steel fabrication manufacturing sector, with a well-known company looking for an experienced machine operator with supervisory skills to join their team and make a significant impact.

A key role has become available in Wetherill Park, where on-site parking is available. The successful candidate will oversee a team of five and ensure that materials are processed accurately according to specifications.

The Key Responsibilities include:

  • Supervising and mentoring a team of five, ensuring efficient workflows and adherence to quality standards
  • Pulling, inspecting, and verifying products before processing
  • Using water jet cutting, plate saw cutting, band saw cutting/Guillotine
  • Setting up equipment and processing materials according to specifications
  • Communicating effectively with sales representatives regarding order details
  • Conducting routine equipment maintenance and maintaining a clean workspace
  • Assisting in packaging and managing measurement equipment
  • Identifying and segregating scrap and non-conforming materials
  • Participating in lean and quality initiatives
  • Adhering to all health, safety, and quality standards

This role offers a competitive salary of $74,500 per year, which includes superannuation and overtime. The successful candidate will also have opportunities for skill development and career advancement within the company.

The ideal candidate will be proficient in reading, writing, and speaking fluent English, with previous warehouse experience in the metals industry preferred. Experience in leading and supervising a small team is also desirable. Forklift experience and familiarity with handheld measuring tools are also considered advantageous. Basic computer skills are a plus, as well as a commitment to professionalism and efficiency in a close-knit team environment.
