Automotive Inventory Optimisation Specialist

The Parts & Accessories Distribution Lead will be responsible for optimising the inventory management in regional PDCs to provide the highest possible customer fill rate while balancing working capital requirements.

The role involves consulting with retail partners on parts operations, identifying coaching opportunities by monitoring key performance indicators, and engaging with logistics vendors to ensure parts logistics are providing high service levels.

  • Regional Inventory Management: Set up, manage and monitor regional parts distribution centres
  • Retail Support: Provide online parts issue support to retail partners
  • Safety Stock Management: Safeguard regional parts availability
  • Training and Process Improvement: Develop and implement training programs and process improvements
  • Contingency Planning: Identify wider product issues and develop contingency plans
  • Pricing Strategy: Regularly benchmark parts and accessory pricing against OEM and aftermarket offerings
  • Logistics Performance Monitoring: Set and monitor logistics KPIs for 3PL partners
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Aftersales and operational experience in the automotive industry, including vehicle manufacturer or wider motor trade experience
  • Technical qualification or experience in automotive parts supply chain management or retail parts operation
  • Analytical skills and ability to work across multiple functions and priorities
  • Relationship building and strategic leverage with vendors and business partners
  • Continuous improvement mindset and kaizen mentality
