Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Assistant Underwriter to join our team. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in the insurance industry, particularly in underwriting, and possess excellent communication and analytical skills.

The role involves handling basic underwriting tasks, renewals, quotes, endorsements, and broker engagement when required. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating and maintaining records electronically, collaborating with outsourced providers on queries and issues, and analysing and assessing Property submissions in respect of exposures and coverages.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Handling basic underwriting tasks, renewals, quotes, endorsements, and broker engagement when required.
  • Creating and maintaining records electronically, following established guidelines and processes.
  • Collaborating with outsourced providers on queries and issues.
  • Modifying, updating, and processing changes in applicable tools, systems, and documents as needed.
  • Analysing and assessing Property submissions in respect of exposures and coverages.
  • Prioritising new submissions quickly and optimally finding opportunities in collaboration with the wider underwriting team.
Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in the insurance industry, preferably in underwriting.
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills.
  • A strong team player with ability to demonstrate the highest level of professionalism and integrity.
  • Studying or willing to study towards Diploma in General Insurance (ANZIIF) or similar qualification.

Skills:

  • Intermediate level knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Strong service and client orientation.
