The Role

We are seeking a skilled Payroll Officer to join our team at our Support Centre in Nunawading. As a key member of our payroll team, you will work closely with the Payroll Manager to coordinate, administer, and execute the payroll function in a timely and accurate manner.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate, support, and maintain the Payroll & Time & Attendance Systems
  • Assist in maintaining payroll processes and procedures
  • Manage employee maintenance on the payroll system, including adding new employees, transfers, and terminations
  • Assist with end-to-end processing of fortnightly payrolls
  • Ensure accurate processing of timesheets, leave applications, and discrepancies
  • Process ad hoc allowances, reimbursements, and manual timesheets
  • Support preparation of payroll month-end accounting journals for entry into the General Ledger System
  • Assist with calculating and processing journals relating to end-of-period payroll accruals
  • Assist with all payroll month/year-end processing
  • Assist in preparing and processing Team Member incentive payments
About You

To succeed in this role, you will require:

  • At least 2 years' experience in Payroll, with retail experience highly regarded
  • Competency in using computer programs and systems, with ADP Payforce experience highly valued
  • Strong numeric and computer skills
  • Solid knowledge of payroll work practices and procedures
  • Ability to read and understand payroll reports and information
  • Demonstrated understanding of required reporting and administrative tasks
  • High adaptability to meet the needs of a dynamic business
  • Ability to accurately interpret employment agreements and company policies
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Well-organized and structured approach to task completion
  • Excellent attention to detail and high accuracy
  • Flexibility to work additional hours, including public holidays, as required
