Job Overview

The primary objective of this role is to provide expert technical support and coordination of technical activities at a national level focused on product portfolio management.

This position will primarily involve supporting local customers through installation, servicing, and breakdown support. The technician will also provide remote support and travel to other locations to support all product customers.

Main Responsibilities
  • Provide installation, breakdown, and servicing support to customers
  • Support equipment with interstate travel required to support emergency breakdowns and installations
  • Visit customer sites to review production requirements and make recommendations on critical parts stocking and servicing requirements
  • Commission complex installations when requested by state managers or service managers
  • Liaise with the head office to obtain technical information and arrange for representatives to visit to resolve issues with approval from the business unit manager
  • Assist the spare parts department with recommendations about type and quantity of parts to be kept in stock
  • Evaluate and follow through to completion all quality issues in a timely manner
  • Provide remote technical support to customers and technicians
  • Provide technical input into criteria for customer and employee training programs for products and run training programs for courses where you have product expertise
Relationships and Authority
  • Day-to-day reporting is to the state manager
  • State-based customer decisions are approved by service managers

7-10 years experience with products, good understanding of processes and systems, reliable, well organised, strong time management skills, ability to think laterally, methodical problem-solving attributes, previous exposure and proficiency with ERP systems and MS Office etc.
