Contract Surveillance Officer

We are seeking skilled Contract Surveillance Officers to ensure contractors' works are compliant with contract specifications, safety standards, and environmental guidelines for the Radio Systems Replacement (RSR) project.
Key Responsibilities- Inspecting all related works on the Public Transport Authority's network, including reviewing and assessing contractors' construction plans, work methodologies, and Safety Plans.
- Ensuring safety compliance for consultants and investigative teams working on-site.
- Reviewing and assessing inspection and test plans, conducting inspections to release hold points, witnessing factory and site acceptance tests, and overseeing the commissioning of radio or communication systems.
- Maintaining accurate records of contractors' progress, including tracking weather conditions, manpower, resource allocation, and traffic management.
- Reporting on the quality of work delivered by contractors, identifying potential risks, and assisting with the development of risk mitigation strategies.
To excel in this role, you should possess:
- Relevant technical qualification with expertise in the installation, testing, and commissioning of communication systems and related infrastructure.
- Knowledge of rail safety and relevant codes of practice, including experience with construction and maintenance civil works relating to pit and pipe infrastructure in an electrified railway environment.
- Technical expertise in 4G LTE communication systems and infrastructure, such as Radio Access Network (RAN), optical and microwave transmission, antenna and feeder cables, rectifiers, and DC power distribution.
- Experience with RF and microwave testing, and the ability to read and interpret technical construction and site installation drawings.
- Strong understanding and application of procedures, codes of practice, and specifications for the installation, testing, and commissioning of communication systems, and optical fibre cable systems.
- Well-developed communication and relationship management skills, with the ability to effectively manage contractors, work independently or in teams, and prepare technical and general reports using PC-based software.
