Public Health Medicine Specialist

This is a rewarding role for an experienced Public Health Physician to contribute to the delivery of specialist public health services in our region.

About the Role

We are seeking a consultant with expertise in rural, Aboriginal and One Health focused work, and a passion for contributing to evidence-based public health medicine.

  • You will provide comprehensive and professional specialist public health services that are safe, effective, evidence based, and patient centred.
  • Liaison with agencies at local, state and federal government levels regarding communicable disease and environmental health issues.
  • Involvement in strategic planning and programme quality review for environmental health, immunisation and communicable diseases with a particular focus on conditions that are notifiable (NSW Public Health Act).

Your Key Responsibilities Will Include:

Main Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement systems to ensure data quality and equity in service provision, particularly for Aboriginal communities.
  • Follow-up of infectious diseases outbreaks and conduct of outbreak investigations, and on-call service provision including as human biosecurity officer.
Requirements
  • Fellowship of the Faculty of Public Health Medicine and specialist registration with AHPRA.
  • Evidence of recent and comprehensive experience in Public Health Medicine.
