Job Description:

This is a rewarding and challenging role for an experienced Public Health Physician to contribute to our Health Protection team.

The ideal candidate will have expertise in rural, Aboriginal and One Health focused work, with a passion for delivering evidence-based public health medicine services.

You will be responsible for providing contemporary, comprehensive and professional specialist public health services that are safe, effective, patient-centred and based on the latest research and best practices.

  • Liaise with external stakeholders at local, state and federal government levels regarding communicable disease and environmental health issues
  • Be involved in strategic planning and programme quality review for environmental health, immunisation and communicable diseases with a particular focus on conditions that are notifiable (NSW Public Health Act)
  • Develop and implement systems to ensure data quality and equity in service provision, particularly for Aboriginal communities

What we're looking for in candidates:

  • Fellowship of the Faculty of Public Health Medicine and specialist registration with AHPRA
  • Evidence of recent and comprehensive experience in Public Health Medicine
