Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Audit, Compliance or Risk Assurance Professional who is passionate about a promising career with leading financial institutions in Australia. As a 2nd Line of Defense Risk & Compliance function, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the effectiveness of key business controls.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop annual assurance plans for core business units within the bank's Enterprise/Group Functions;
  • Ensure assurance and monitoring programs align with Group Risk & Compliance strategy;
  • Conduct independent reviews on the effectiveness of key business controls as a dedicated 2nd LoD function;
  • Apply audit & assurance knowledge to understand all controls and run assurance testings in accordance with the Group's risk management program and strategy;
  • Deliver assigned reviews from the annual assurance plan, with extra attention to high and medium-risk rated projects;
  • Document findings and deliver assurance opinions, collaborating and challenging the business when necessary;
  • Support the embedding of key risk monitoring and control practices into the business;
  • Maintain a cohesive working relationship with key stakeholders, especially Ops Risk, Compliance & Group Audit;
  • Compile and consolidate materials for management and committee meetings;
  • Act as a people leader for the team, providing ongoing feedback and guidance.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of hands-on assurance experience in Banking or Professional Services (Big4 Consulting firms) in Australia or overseas;
  • Ability to design and execute testing plans, review scopes/reports, and lead assigned reviews;
  • Experience in developing and implementing Risk & Compliance frameworks for large organisations;
  • Strong ability to articulate and socialise findings to influence and get buy-in's from GM level;
  • Demonstrated ability and confidence in presenting to Group Executives and Risk Committees;
  • Updated understanding of the regulatory landscape that Australian banks operate in;
  • Relevant qualifications such as CA/CPA, CIA, CISA, CFA, FRM, MBA are desirable.
