Exciting Opportunity in Carpentry

We are seeking enthusiastic and motivated individuals to join our team as skilled trade workers, specialising in carpentry.

This is an exciting opportunity for you to develop your skills and knowledge in a fast-paced environment. You will be working on a range of projects, from new home builds and renovations to refurbishments and commercial projects.

You will have the opportunity to work with a variety of materials, including timber, and develop your skills in measuring, cutting, assembling and nailing. You will also have the chance to study drawings and specifications to determine materials required, dimensions and installation procedures.

About the Role:
  • You will be working full-time, 40 hours per week.
  • You will be entitled to a rostered day off each month.

About the Training:

  • You will be completing your trade with one of our experienced Host Employers, who will provide you with in-depth knowledge and guidance to help you become trade qualified within 4 years.
  • You will be studying and practicing various carpentry skills, including measurements, calculations, ordering and selecting materials, and preparing layouts.
  • You will be developing your skills in cutting materials, assembling and nailing cut and shaped parts, erecting framework and roof framing, laying sub-flooring and floorboards and verifying trueness of structures.
  • You will be learning how to assemble prepared wood to form structures and fittings ready to install, cutting wood joints, and constructing concrete formwork.
  • You may be repairing existing fittings, working with plastic laminates, Perspex and metals, and other tasks requested by the host employer.
Requirements:
  • You must have an interest and commitment to work in construction.
  • You must have a White Card or the ability to obtain one ASAP.
  • You must have a current Drivers License or be close to obtaining one, and have your own reliable transport.
  • Certificate I or II in Construction is advantageous.
  • Work experience within the construction industry is highly desirable.
  • You must be physically fit, self-disciplined, and have high attention to detail.
  • You must be reliable, resilient, motivated, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • You must be able to take direction and take the safety of yourself and your team members seriously.
