The Role

We are seeking an experienced Drug & Alcohol Counsellor for a part-time contract in our facility. As a Counsellor, you will provide group and individual therapy sessions, managing clients with substance use disorders. Your expertise will be invaluable in delivering drug and alcohol services to individuals in need.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver drug and alcohol services through assessment, case management, referral services, and therapeutic interventions
  • Provide individual drug and alcohol-related counselling
  • Facilitate SMART recovery group sessions on diverse topics
  • Support the site in providing D&A services

Requirements

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in counselling, social welfare, education, or related disciplines
  • Proven clinical experience in drug and alcohol services, including assessment and counselling
  • Ability to provide clinical coordination and counselling management for individuals with co-morbid substance use disorders and mental health issues
  • Accreditation as a SMART Recovery facilitator or willingness to obtain
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) or First Aid Certificate
  • Valid and full working rights in Australia
