Overview of the Role
An exciting opportunity exists for suitably qualified applicants to fulfil Intensive Care Registrar or Senior Registrar positions at the Monash Medical Centre (MMC) Clayton, and the Victorian Heart Hospital (VHH) Intensive Care Units for 2025. Successful applicants will be responsible for the care of acutely unwell patients (under the supervision of an Intensivist) within the MMC and VHH Intensive Care Units.
Suitable candidates will bring a medical qualification (MBBS or equivalent) with current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (APRHA) and a current Victorian Working with Children Check Employee (WWCC). Our team provides weekly registrar and senior registrar education, dedicated CICM Part I and Part II teaching, an established Point of Care Ultrasound Program, and externally recognised courses such as Advanced Life Support (ALS Level 2), Cardiac Surgery Advanced Life Support (CALS-ANZ), Basic Assessment and Support in Intensive Care (BASIC).
About the Work Environment
Monash Medical Centre Clayton Intensive Care Unit is a 26-bed tertiary referral unit, accredited with the College of Intensive Care Medicine (CICM) for General Training (Core Intensive Care /C24). The Victorian Heart Hospital Intensive Care Unit is a 16-bed ICU specialising in cardiology/cardiac surgical ICU. We offer a highly dynamic and collaborative work environment with active and dynamic intensivist-led education programs.
Successful candidates will also have the opportunity to participate in research and contribute to the development of novel critical care ultrasound series of courses with our clinical partners. Salary and Benefits
The estimated annual salary for this role is $120,000 - $180,000, depending on qualifications and experience. We offer a competitive remuneration package, including salary packaging, and a range of benefits including onsite parking, gym access, and professional development opportunities.
