This is an exciting opportunity to join the team at Cape Breton University as a Student Communications Ambassador. As a key member of the Strategic Communications and Events team, you will play a vital role in supporting the development and implementation of communications plans, content creation, and social media management.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in the development and writing of communications plans, best practice research, news releases, storytelling, ad copy, video production, and social media content creation.
- Amplify Strategic Communications messages and provide insight into student life at Cape Breton University.
- Conduct research, data collection, interviewing, editing, presentation support, and prepare media kits and other projects.
- Research and analyze social media best practices for the University's social media presence.
- Write and edit compelling content, including social media posts, website copy, blog posts, newsletters, and emails.
- Liaise with other departments, including Student Affairs, CBU Students' Union, Marketing, and Recruitment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Be a current student at Cape Breton University, enrolled in a 3 or 4-year undergraduate program.
- Have strong organizational skills and the ability to work with deadlines and multitask on several projects.
- Have very strong written and oral communication skills.
- Have an interest in Strategic Communications and the ability to work in a team environment and independently.
- Have experience working with social media platforms and creating social media content.
This is a part-time position, approximately 20 hours per week, with a competitive hourly rate of $15.20. The location is Sydney, NS.
