Surgical Nurse Specialist

Salary: $63,130.85 - $68,599.17 per annum, plus superannuation, with opportunities for salary packaging and relocation assistance.
Job Description: As an Enrolled Nurse Surgical specialist, you'll play a vital role in the delivery of patient care in our rural hospitals. Your expertise will be invaluable in assisting with surgeries, evaluating nursing care, and participating in unit meetings. You'll also have the opportunity to work as a preceptor, mentoring other nurses and students, and contributing to the development of our nursing team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate nursing care through provision of information, documentation, and reporting changes in patient conditions.
- Participate in unit meetings and discussions to enhance patient care.
- Work within your scope of practice and seek support, learning, and education when required.
- Administer medications in accordance with NSW Health and Far West LHD policies and procedures (if medication-endorsed).
Required Skills and Qualifications: To be successful in this role, you'll need to demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills, a strong understanding of evidence-based practice, and a commitment to ongoing professional development. A current endorsed Enrolled Nurse registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) is essential.
