Job Overview:

The Housing Operational Policy Team is seeking a Principal Policy Advisor to enable equitable access to safe, appropriate, affordable housing and embed housing as essential infrastructure.

The ideal candidate will have a strategic mindset, strong analytical skills, and extensive experience in housing operational policy and service delivery. They should be able to develop and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders, provide high-quality business intelligence, and deliver on outcomes within resourcing, timeline, and budget parameters.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement policies and initiatives that meet government objectives, leveraging research and analysis to inform decision-making.
  • Collaborate with senior management and government to provide authoritative advice and sound policy recommendations.
  • Lead the development of comprehensive reports, ministerial briefs, and cabinet submissions on complex issues related to housing operational policy.

Requirements:

  • A seasoned policy professional with a track record of developing and implementing successful policies and initiatives.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to lead projects and develop practical solutions.
  • Experience in writing policy and a deep understanding of the Victorian social housing system.
