Job Title:

A Senior Sustainability Specialist to lead and manage planning, environmental impact assessments, and approvals projects throughout NSW

This role involves handling complex environmental assessments and approval processes. Our services include due diligence assessments, approval strategies, planning, environmental approvals, environmental and technical studies, compliance, and auditing.

You will advise clients on project feasibility, impact assessments, approvals strategy, planning, environment approvals, development and implementation of environmental management plans, and post-approval compliance.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to hone their project management skills; leading multi-disciplinary teams to deliver great project outcomes for a diverse range of clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Project Management: Scope, plan, manage, and execute environmental assessment, planning, approvals, and environmental management projects, ensuring integrated outcomes and high-quality delivery
  • Team Management: Manage project teams to achieve exceptional project results that meet or exceed client expectations
  • Quality Assurance: Maintain a focus on delivering high-quality project outcomes and enhancing client satisfaction
  • Client Engagement: Build and maintain strong client relationships, developing high-quality proposals to secure new business
About You:

We are looking for an enthusiastic and driven individual with 10+ years' experience in environmental science, planning, or related degree disciplines. In this role, you will develop your consulting, writing, project management, and technical skills through delivering a range of planning and environmental consulting projects.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Qualifications in environmental science, planning, or related degree disciplines
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in environmental impact assessment or planning and approvals (NSW experience preferred) - consulting experience is desirable
  • Strong knowledge of environmental and planning legislation, regulations, standards, and best practices
  • Experience managing medium to large projects through the development spectrum, including managing timelines, budgets, and resourcing
  • Adaptability to undertake a range of technical work based on project requirements
  • Interest and aptitude in working across multiple disciplines
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to develop and maintain positive team and client relationships
  • Organised, motivated, and self-directed
