Job Opportunity

The City is seeking an experienced WHS professional to lead the day-to-day operations of the WHS team. This key role ensures the highest standard of health and safety within the organization.

You will work closely with business units to deliver practical, outcome-focused solutions that make health and safety real and valued. Your influence drives continuous improvement, builds leadership WHS capability, and ensures the organization meets its duty of care responsibilities.

  • Lead and coordinate key WHS projects and initiatives.
  • Support the implementation of the WHS strategy and plan.
  • Provide expert advice on WHS systems, contractor management, and injury management.
  • Drive continuous improvement and risk management.
  • Build strong relationships across the organization and influence positive safety outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will have:

  • Broad experience in WHS roles within large, diverse organizations.
  • Strong understanding of WHS legislation and practical application.
  • High level communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Proven ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Current driver's license.
  • Tertiary qualifications in WHS (Minimum of Certificate IV).
  • Current Police Clearance (less than three months old). This is not essential to apply for the role but will be required at a later stage as it is an appointment condition.
