As a Solar Design Assistant, you will be responsible for coordinating and managing project design and procurement processes, including taking detailed meeting minutes and following up on open items. This role involves assisting with review of RFP documentation, drawings/diagrams, Commissioning plan and electrical studies for key design requirements. You will also facilitate communication and collaboration between project stakeholders by utilizing PM4+ to send RFIs and submittals. Additionally, you will ensure project compliance and quality through site O&Ms and warranty item tracking. Your responsibilities will also include streamlining project processes by converting Excel inspection test plans into PM4+ ITP templates, and supporting project success by developing and maintaining Power BI Synoptics design dashboards for projects. You will communicate with internal and external stakeholders to resolve issues, and develop and maintain strong customer-focused relationships with all stakeholders.

Requirements
  • You must have a strong desire to work in a solar design function.
  • You should possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • You should have superior attention to detail.
  • You should be proficient in various computer software programs, including AutoCad, word processing, and spreadsheet applications (Excel).
  • Familiarity with PM4+ and Power BI is a plus.
  • Students will be eligible for a Living Away From Home Allowance for the duration of your placement on a solar site.
