Senior Cyber Security Consultant

At RSM, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Cyber Security Consultant to join our team. Our consultants are responsible for extensive client contact, staff training, management and development, and liaising with third parties.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing the whole project lifecycle for IT general controls audit, cyber security and information security services. They will be skilled and experienced at performing IT/cyber/technology risk assessments, technical security-related reviews, and assessing the effectiveness of processes/controls and risks related to third-party organisations.
The Cyber Security Consultant will be responsible for executing and completing individual IT and cyber security audits and special project reviews relating to various applications, IT infrastructure, and other relevant IT domains. They will conduct independent risk-based IT and cyber security audits to assess the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls, the reliability and integrity of the client's business and IT systems.
The ideal candidate will have a relevant tertiary degree and/or qualification, a minimum of 2 years' Professional Services experience in Cyber/IT technical delivery, IT audit, internal controls, or risk management, and experience performing security risk assessments, testing or auditing of cybersecurity or information security standards or governance frameworks.
The Cyber Security Consultant will work closely with our team to provide high-quality services to our clients. They will have outstanding interpersonal and communications skills, able to communicate effectively in verbal and written format with technical and non-technical audiences. They will be able to develop effective solutions and enhancements in an innovative manner and have strong analytical and written communication skills.

The Cyber Security Consultant will have a strong understanding of control best practices in IT general controls and applications, as well as knowledge of IT processes, project management, applications, databases, operating systems, and network infrastructure. They will be able to apply better practice guidance and identify opportunities for improvement. They will also have strong attention to detail and prioritising skills, able to produce high-quality work autonomously and as part of a team.
The ideal candidate will have a strong ability to communicate complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders and will have experience in performing engagements where teams are completing various technical testing assessments. They will be able to translate technical findings and articulate recommendations for non-technical client staff.
