About John Holland

We're seeking a passionate and experienced Sustainability Advisor to join our team in Canterbury, NSW. As a key member of our team, you'll provide advice to projects and deliver initiatives that enhance our sustainability work for clients and the community. You'll also contribute to our Infrastructure Sustainability rating for the project.

Main Responsibilities:

  1. Provide advice to ensure compliance with John Holland, joint venture partner, client, and regulatory requirements
  2. Compile and review sustainability submissions
  3. Implement and maintain project sustainability objectives
  4. Collaborate with team members and the wider sustainability and environmental teams for best practices and outcomes
  5. Implement the project's sustainability strategies, including the sustainability management plan, and monitor and report performance
  6. Continuously monitor, measure, and evaluate project practices, sustainability management plans, policies, and processes to meet project targets
  7. Review and implement legislative and regulatory changes as required
  8. Manage the delivery of sustainability rating aspects and compile documentation for external rating bodies
  9. Conduct site visits, audits, and inspections as required

Requirements:

  1. Passion, drive, and belief in our sustainability objectives
  2. Sound understanding of sustainability principles and their application in the construction industry, including sustainability rating schemes like Infrastructure Sustainability Council (ISC) Green Star, NABERS, and WELL. ISAP (Infrastructure Sustainability Accredited Professional) accreditation is preferred
  3. 3+ years' experience in the sustainability field, with experience in the construction industry desirable but not essential
  4. Well-developed communication skills with the ability to collaborate across multiple teams
  5. A relevant degree/qualification in the field of sustainability/science/environmental engineering
  6. The ability to interpret project-related documents, prepare reports, and monitor compliance documentation
