The Health and Safety Coordinator will be a key member of our team, responsible for developing and maintaining our health and safety management systems, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and best practices.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and implementing procedures for reviewing key risk assessments and updating site management plans
  • Staying up-to-date on legislative changes and ensuring our systems remain compliant
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop site strategies and annual plans
  • Overseeing the quality and effectiveness of our incident and hazard management system, identifying areas for improvement
  • Ensuring the effectiveness of our assurance/critical control management system and making recommendations for enhancement
  • Ongoing monitoring and review of our health and safety management system to maintain currency and compliance

To succeed in this role, you'll need:

  • 2 years of practical experience in safety and risk management systems in coal mining, heavy industry, or construction
  • Bachelor's or Advanced Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety (desired)
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (desired)
  • Diploma of Work Health and Safety
  • S1, S2, S3, and G2 certifications (desired)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the Queensland Coal Mining Legislative Framework
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders
  • Flexible and adaptable approach to changing circumstances
