Digitisation Specialist

This role presents an opportunity to preserve Indigenous collection materials as part of a dedicated team at the Australian Public Service.

As a Digitisation Specialist, you will be responsible for preserving cultural heritage collection materials that detail local and regional Indigenous Communities and individuals.

You will receive training and support from experienced technical staff, including the Senior Digitisation specialist and the ICT Teams.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Processing, documenting, safely handling, packing, and moving archival material.
  • Efficiently digitising material to a high quality preservation standard.
  • Learning digitisation techniques to solve preservation problems.
  • Caring for equipment, hardware, and software, and bringing issues to the attention of the Team Leader.
