Job Overview

We are seeking a passionate and enthusiastic kitchen professional to deliver exceptional food and outstanding customer service.

This casual position is based at the RAAF Base Edinburgh, South Australia, with opportunities to work at other Defence locations for camps.

  • Assist with basic food preparation, including items such as sandwiches, bircher muesli, yogurt, and grab-and-go options.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service with a positive and professional demeanor.
  • Support the implementation and management of our Food Safety Program.
  • Help with stock management tasks, including rotation, checking labels and use-by dates, loading and unloading supplies, restocking consumables, and assisting with stock take.
  • Clean, sanitize, and maintain cooking utensils, equipment, and food preparation areas.
  • Aid chefs and dining room attendants as required, especially during peak times.
  • Perform opening and closing procedures.
Key Requirements
  • Demonstrated experience delivering food and beverage services in hotels, restaurants, or high-volume dining establishments.
  • Enthusiasm and commitment to high standards of customer service and food preparation.
  • Sound knowledge of Food Safety Standards, relevant legislation, and statutory obligations.

Must be eligible to hold a Defence Security Clearance up to the level of Baseline. As a result of this requirement, the applicant must be an Australian Citizen.
