Aged Care Support Worker Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Aged Care Support Worker to join our team. The successful applicant will provide high-quality care and support to frail aged individuals in their own homes, enabling them to maintain their independence and wellbeing.

As an Aged Care Support Worker, you will be responsible for delivering person-centered care, including personal care, mobility aids, and monitoring clients for any changes in their condition. You will also work effectively as part of a team, communicating with clients, family members, and other healthcare professionals as needed.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver high-quality care and support to frail aged individuals in their own homes
  • Provide personal care, including toileting, bathing, and dressing
  • Use mobility aids to assist clients with mobility issues
  • Monitor clients for any changes in their condition and report these to the relevant authorities
  • Communicate effectively with clients, family members, and other healthcare professionals
Required Skills and Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Certificate III in Individual Support Aged Care or willingness to obtain
  • NSW Driver's Licence
  • Comprehensively insured & registered motor vehicle
  • Current First Aid Certificate
  • Proof of double COVID-19 vaccinations
  • Previous experience working with frail aged people, people with dementia, and complex needs
  • Experience in monitoring clients and reporting behavioural or health changes
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment as well as independently
