Job Description

Job Title: Deputy Principal - Secondary Education

Job Summary:

The Deputy Principal - Secondary Education will provide educational leadership in the Secondary section of St George Christian School, developing and promoting the school's vision and culture. The successful candidate will be responsible for building empathy and rapport with students, managing discipline and key operations in the high school, and enhancing teaching and learning experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide educational leadership in the Secondary section of St George Christian School
  • Develop and promote the school's vision and culture
  • Build empathy and rapport with students
  • Manage discipline and key operations in the high school
  • Enhance teaching and learning experiences
  • Lead and support events in the school, including Chapel, assemblies, parent nights, subject selections, camps, and professional development
  • Support the College Principal to implement the core mission of the College and lead the Secondary section passionately to fulfill Kingdom and educational priorities

Requirements:

  • Effective leadership skills in a school setting
  • Strong interpersonal and public relations skills
  • Ability to manage staff in a professional way through effective performance management processes
  • Aptitude and ability to manage the general operations of a Secondary school
  • Articulate and implement government and school-based policy as related to the effective operation of a school
  • Co-lead the Secondary school to enhance the school's Christian mission and direction
  • Use, implement, and use standardized ICT software
  • Manage and lead student behavior with an ability to follow process and improvement

  • How have you demonstrated effective leadership skills in a school setting?
  • Describe your style of engagement in relation to pastoral care and behavior management.
  • Outline your interpersonal and public relations skills that demonstrate the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships to achieve planned outcomes.
  • How would you support and champion the school's Strategic Plan to ensure the ongoing improvement in a Christian school?
  • Explain your management skills and demonstrated effectiveness in conducting general operations of a Secondary school.
  • Describe your role and effectiveness in managing events, marketing, and initiatives in a school setting.
  • Outline your role and contribution to the life of the Church. Include your Christian faith story.
